"Their
Separate Ways" © December 2013
They
went their separate ways,
Of
which was only supposed to be temporary.
Learning
of the women’s anatomy is how he spent his days,
While
she spent hers in the library.
He
thought that he knew what life was all about,
He
thought that he had figured it all out.
When
winter returned
And
they were both to meet once again,
His
changed attitude had her concerned.
Things
were officially put to an end.
He
had chosen one of the many bruised apples that had already fallen to the ground,
Too
cocky and too scared that he would fall if he tried to reach for the one more
profound.
When
he begged her for a second chance
She
walked away without a second glance.
